Every time that Mark McGuire releases new material, it is always worth getting excited for. Whether it be his solo stuff, with Emeralds, or with the husband and wife duo from Ohio, Trouble Books. Trouble Books & Mark McGuire have announced a collaboration LP, which will hit the shelves early this summer via Bark and Hiss. "Song for Reinier Lucassen's Sphinx" is a terrific blend of Trouble Books' synth work and McGuire's signature guitar work. Keep on the look out for this LP.

Maybe when I trust myself more as a writer, I'll write about what, specifically, I like about each album, but every time I've tried it in the past, my own words sound completely worthless and tired by the end. So these are albums I enjoyed because I heard something new and exciting in each one. None of them played to my expectations - they all surpassed them.

"Dreaming" by Seapony is a great little lo-fi track. Seapony hails from Seattle, WA and this track contains catchy guitar hooks over nice girl vocals. Head on over to Double Denim Records to pre-order a copy of the 7", which the first 150 copies will be sold on clear seafoam vinyl.

"Take Me Home or I Die Alone" by Dead Gaze is a swampy psychedelic jam from Mississippi boy, Cole Furlow. This track is significantly different than his earlier stuff as Dead Gaze churns out even muggier tunes with creeping melodies. The single is dropping in late November on Fire Talk.
